First swarm of the year

The stone fruit trees are blooming which to me means that swarm season is starting. Sure enough I got a call to rescue a swarm hanging from a lemon tree in the front yard of a nice lady in San Carlos/Belmont. The bees were very docile and an easy collection. The cool thing is that when I was introducing them to their new hive box I spotted the queen who had a green paint mark on her back. She raised a large healthy population so a great colony to propagate!
